Strategic Housing & Employment Land Availability Assessment 

We have produced a new Strategic Housing & Employment Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) as part of our work to update the Local Plan.  Details about the new SHELAA can be found from our Local Plan update evidence base page. The SHLAA documents used to inform the 2014 and 2015 Local Plan can be found below.

Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment July 2014 update

The 2014 Update of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) provides an update to SHLAA first published in January 2010 and the 2011 update.  This document should be read in conjunction with the January 2010 SHLAA which provides information on the process by which sites were originally identified

Strategic Housing Land Availability update April 2011

Appendix 2 of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) has been updated to include planning application monitoring data and any new site level information since the SHLAA was first published in January 2010.  As such the updated appendix is a snap shot of the potential housing land supply situation as at the 1st April 2011.  This document should be read in conjunction with the January 2010 SHLAA which provides information on the process by which sites were originally identified:

Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment 2010

The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) provides an assessment of the land likely to be available for housing development in the Borough in the period to 2026.  The SHLAA is a research exercise and its purpose is not to allocate land, but to identify potential within the town.
