Draft New Local Plan – Regulation 18 consultation
Draft New Local Plan Preferred Options – Regulation 18 consultation (2026)
In 2021, we asked for your views on the Draft Local Plan. Since 2021 there have been changes to national planning policy, guidance and legislation, including an increase in the Government’s housing target for Hastings. This means we need to plan for more homes. Therefore, we are now consulting on an updated Draft Local Plan.
The comments you shared with us last time have been listened to, and many of these suggestions have helped us to shape the new version of the Draft Local Plan, alongside more background information and evidence gathered since 2021.
The Local Plan is more than just planning for new homes, we must also plan for jobs and infrastructure, the natural and historic environment, sport and recreation, how we travel around the town and reduce our impact on the climate.
