To render or install external wall insulation on a domestic property?
Rendering the external walls of a house will require planning permission if the materials used in any exterior work are not of a similar appearance to those used in the construction of the exterior of the existing dwellinghouse.
External wall insulation does not usually require planning permission unless:
- The house is located within a Conservation Area
- The house is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
- The house is a Listed Building
- The materials used would not be of a similar appearance to those in the construction of exterior of the existing house.
