Requesting a CON29 Enquiry
CON29 Enquiry Request Forms
Land to be searched
You need to identify the land you wish to search. Please advise us of the address(es) of all of the rateable premises/land you wish to search and provide us with a red line plan showing the extent of land and showing two named roads.
You can look at the Council Tax and Business Rates lists at gov.uk to determine the rateable premises/land.
We are not able to confirm the rateable premise/land within your red line plan, you are required to tell us which rateable premises/land you wish to search.
Payment
We accept payment by credit/debit card on the telephone. We will contact you to take payment when we accept the search.
We are not able to process cheques at this time and apologise for the inconvenience.
Search fees can be found here Land Charges Search fees
CON29O: Optional enquiries
Standard optional enquiries can be requested using the Con29 enquiry request form.
Additional CON29 Enquiries
Additional Enquiries may be added to the CON29 enquiry request form but these must be clear. Queries such as 'in the vicinity of' or 'likely to affect' are too vague.
We are not able to accept the following as a question under additional enquiries.
- Current authorised use of the premises for planning purposes
If you wish to confirm the use of the premises for planning purposes then please contact your planning department. There is a fee for the service under the lawful use of the premises heading.
Information about other roads and footpaths can be requested using BOX C on the CON29R form. This information will be provided by East Sussex County Council. Phrases such as 'all abutting' will not be accepted.
Sending your search to us
Email: Complete either the Law Societies CON29 forms which are available from Law Stationers or our CON29 Enquiry Request Form (see link above) and send one copy of the form along with a plan by email to landcharges@hastings.gov.uk
Online: Fully electronic searches can be submitted through the National Land Information Service Hub (NLIS). Hastings Borough Council is currently at Level 3 which means that we can receive and return electronic searches. If you wish to use this service, you will need to make arrangements with a NLIS Licenced Channel Provider.
