Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is the document that sets out the timetable, resources and monitoring arrangements for the production of the draft Hastings Local Plan (2023-2041).

Building on the previous Local Plan consultation exercise in 2021 and in the light of the increased housing target imposed by central government in December 2024, the council will be running a further Local Plan consultation from February 2026 to give as many people as possible the opportunity to comment on our latest version of the Draft Hastings Local Plan and to help influence the location, form and amount of new development to achieve the best outcomes for Hastings.
