Press Releases week beginning 25 February 2019
Local organisations welcome at funding workshops
What is Connecting Hastings and Rother Together (CHART)?
CHART is a local grants scheme that uses European Structural Investment Funds to support projects that bring a fresh approach to tackling deep-rooted problems which conventional working has not managed to solve, mostly:
- Helping disadvantaged people to find and keep work locally
- Helping disadvantaged people to start a business or set up as self-employed
- Stimulating the local economy to create jobs for local people
Who can apply for funding?
There are two types of funding, both with different rules.
- European Regional Development Fund (ERDF): any legally constituted body with strong links with the local communities in the area can apply
- European Social Fund (ESF): applicants must be qualifying charities, services of general interest or public sector organisations (private sector companies cannot apply for funding).
Anyone applying for a grant must have eligible public sector match funding.
When can we apply for funding?
The second call for projects will open on 20 March 2019. The CHART Programme will be running four workshops to help anyone interested in applying for funding to learn about the CHART strategy and the types of projects we are looking for.
