The purposes of the processing
We collect your personal data in order to carry out our duties under Parts 1, 2 and 4 of The Housing Act 2004. This enables us to keep local housing conditions under review, carry out inspections to risk assess the health and safety of housing conditions, and assess the suitability of the condition and management arrangements in houses of multiple occupation (HMOs).
We also have duties and powers under other legislation, all with the same aim of improving housing conditions.

Public task: the processing is necessary for us to perform a task in the public interest or for our official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law.

The lawful basis for processing special category personal data
Substantial public interest: the processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest, on the basis of Union or Member State law which shall be proportionate to the aim pursued, respect the essence of the right to data protection and provide for suitable and specific measures to safeguard the fundamental rights of the data subject.

Who we share your data with
We may share your personal information with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. This is for the purposes of allowing further fire safety advice and support to be provided to you. We will only do this with your express permission.
We may also share your personal information with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service without your consent where we are permitted to do so by law. We will only do this where we believe there is a risk to health and safety and where East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service need this information in order to carry out their own legal duties.
