Inspector's Final Report
The Inspector's final report was received by the Council on 29 May 2015.
The Development Management Plan (DMP) was subject to a rigorous process of examination in public during October- December 2014 and a further hearing session in January 2015. The examination was undertaken by an independent Planning Inspector, appointed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. The Inspector has recommended eight modifications to the Plan in order to ensure it is sound and can be adopted by the Council for planning purposes. The Inspector's Report follows consultation on his Preliminary Findings and Proposed Main Modifications.
The Council will now proceed to formally adopt the Plan at the earliest opportunity which will afford it the greatest possible weight in the determination of future planning applications and development proposals. Currently the Plan is being prepared to take on board the various modifications proposed by the Inspector including other minor or additional ones agreed by the Council during examination.
Erratum: on 22 June 2015, Hastings Borough Council was requested by the DMP Planning Inspector to amend and publicise a factual error which he had made at paragraph 133 of his Final Report dated 29 May 2015. This requested correction is now reflected in his revised Final Report and is as follows:
- The beginning of paragraph 133 should start as follows (insertion in italics):
"The site is elongated in shape and is located in an area of generally undeveloped land which extends from New Road in the north east to an area of Private Open Space in the south west..."
The Inspector apologises for any inconvenience and confusion caused.
- The beginning of paragraph 133 should start as follows (insertion in italics):
