How long does it take to decide my planning application?
View a planning applicationGovernment legislation requires that planning applications are to be determined within eight (householder and minor applications) or thirteen weeks (major applications).
In certain instances, this is not always possible, for example where additional information is required. In some cases, at the discretion of the Planning Officer, a time extension may be agreed with the applicant.Haven't received a decision?
If you haven't received a decision within the eight or thirteen weeks, or the agreed time extension, you have a right to appeal to the Planning Inspectorate. It is a good idea to contact the Planning Service before appealing - the appeal process can be lengthy and the application may soon be decided.
