This September, Active Hastings are providing more of their friendly and non-judgmental weight loss management courses.
The 12-week weight management courses will cover everything needed to lose weight and make healthy lifestyle changes, and with more than 150 people seeing the benefits of this course over the past year, it is proven to work.
The 12-week courses are suitable for everyone living in Hastings and St Leonards aged 18 and over with a body mass index of more than 30. These fun and sociable classes include Lean in to it, Flab-u-less, Waistband of Brothers, and Weight Management for Older Adults.

Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure that everyone in Hastings can get active.
Heidi Tambeh, Active Hastings Adult Weight Management Instructor, said:
"Over the past year I've had the pleasure of coordinating and delivering the weight management programme alongside a team of personal trainers. I have met some amazing people, all at the start of their weight loss journeys, who are now thriving and loving life. Over 150 people have been through our weight loss courses, dropping stones of weight, losing centimetres from their waists, arms, and thighs, and even reversing diabetes. Being able to support everyone on their journey is the best job in the world, and I can't wait to help the next 150 people."
One participant explained:
"Having tried most diets over many years, it was clear they only had a temporary effect. The Active Hastings weight loss management programme has shown me the reasons for this. Whilst this is a long-term plan and not a quick fix, I am pleased with my weight loss so far - especially as I don't feel like I am on a diet. It is just about making better choices. Having the support of Heidi, Josh, and the group has been great and is still there after the initial 12 weeks."
Councillor Andy Batsford, lead for Health and Culture at Hastings Borough Council, added:
"Well done to everyone who took part in the previous courses, taking the first steps to a healthier life and signing up for these sessions is a huge achievement. I am delighted that Active Hastings has had such a positive impact in our local community, with more than 150 people seeing positive changes from their Weight Management courses over the past year. We look forward to celebrating even more successes by the team and the community in the future."
Hastings Borough Council is run by Labour and Green councillors working together following a Cooperation Agreement.
