Members of the Active Hastings Parkinson's exercise class, and their family and friends, took part in the 6 mile 'Walk for Parkinson's' event in Lullingstone Country Park and raised an amazing £2,000 for Parkinson's UK.
Heather, from the Active Hastings team, said: "I just want to say a huge congratulations to everyone who took park in the Walk for Parkinson's event. It was such an amazing achievement for members of the group to take on such a big challenge, and it was lovely to see their friends and family supporting them every step of the way."
Councillor Andy Batsford, lead councillor for Health and Culture at Hastings Borough Council, said: "We hope the Active Hastings Exercise for Parkinson's class empowers the Parkinson's community to feel more confident in taking part in physical activity. I would like to congratulate everyone who took part in the walk, you are all inspirational."

Active Hastings are proud to join the We Are Undefeatable movement, by encouraging local people with long-term health conditions to keep active. Being Undefeatable is understanding how you feel can change from day-to-day, that everybody's situation is unique, and that moving more when you can is just as important as accepting when you can't.
