Stewards help Event organisers to maintain a high level of customer care and provide practical assistance. Stewards represent a large proportion of those carrying out public roles during Events and therefore, as far as the audience is concerned, they can be seen as the "face" of the Event.

Security (SIA) personnel however are responsible for guarding licensed premises such as festivals, concerts, and bars. They are employed to assist public safety, safeguard against outbreaks of disorder and communicate with the Event Management team.
