Applying for permission to hold an event
If the event is to take place on Hastings Borough Council (HBC) land permission must be applied for.
Once you have established all the elements that apply to your event you should undertake the following;
- read the terms and conditions for hire of HBC Land,
- complete and return the council's 'Event Booking Form which can be requested from eventsadmin@hastings.gov.uk.
Once the application has been processed it will be reviewed by relevant departments within the council.
Please note HBC and our partner agencies need a certain amount of time to be able to support your event effectively.
Some events can require 6 months or even longer to plan. Therefore we need:
- at least three months' advance notice in respect of small and medium size events
- at least six months' advance notice in respect of large events
Event requiring road closures
If an event involves closing of roads or a section of highway, an application must be submitted to the Highway Authority at East Sussex County Council (ESCC) and HBC. Three months' notice should be given.
In this instance an agreed Traffic Management Plan will need to be submitted with your event management plan.
