Hastings Cliffs to Pett Beach Site of Special Scientific Interest
The Site of Special Scientific Interest and Special Area of Conservation sit within the wider Hastings Country Park Local Nature Reserve .
This coastal site is renowned for its geological and biological importance. Its plant and animal fossils are some of the best examples of their type in the world.
A number of habitats are represented in the SSSI, including woodland (much of it ancient), scrub, maritime grassland and a vegetated shingle beach. These support rare bryophytes (mosses and liverworts), lichens, flowering plants and beetles (Coleoptera).
