Sites of Special Scientific Interest

Sites of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI) are the country's best wildlife and geological sites often standing out as the last remaining areas of natural habitat in our countryside. They include some of the UK's most spectacular and beautiful habitats. SSSIs are designated by Natural England.
