Summerfields Wood Local Nature Reserve
Summerfields Wood Local Nature Reserve is an area of semi-natural woodland and freshwater ponds near Hastings town centre. Located behind the museum and sports centre, there is easy access and numerous paths through the woods.
Summerfields is an outstanding place to see migrating birds during autumn.
Spotted flycatcher, pied flycatcher, firecrest, whinchat, ring ouzel and wood warbler can all be seen during the autumn migration. Scarcer species including red-breasted flycatcher, icterine warbler, yellow-browed warbler, serin and wryneck have also been recorded here.
