St Helens Park Local Nature Reserve

St Helens Park is the only privately owned Local Nature Reserve in Town, owned and managed by the St Helens Park Preservation Society

Situated to the north of the Borough the woods have an extensive footpath network for people to enjoy the habitats and natural open space.

The reserve consists of ancient woodland, lowland meadow and ponds. The meadows support colonies of common spotted orchid, green winged orchid as well as a host of meadow and woodland flora. In summer the meadows buzz with large communities of insects.
