The Sanctuary Scheme centres around the needs of victims of domestic abuse, other physical violence or hate crimes, and enables them to remain in their homes and feel safe.
The Scheme provides an alternative to relocation away from family and friends, with vital support networks and key services through the installation of enhanced security measures in a person's home.
The scheme is voluntary, free and available to both homeowners and tenants who meet certain requirements. The scheme is funded by Hastings Borough Council and is supported by members of the Joint Hastings & Rother Domestic Abuse Action Group, which has representatives from Sussex Police, Southern Housing, ESFRS, East Sussex County Council, The Safer Rother Partnership & Safer Hastings Partnership, Rother District Council and Hastings Borough Council.
If you would like to request a Sanctuary in your home call Advance on 0330 055 9278 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday or the Housing Options Team on 01424 451100 or visit Housing Options.
