Draft Cultural Strategy 2023-2028

The draft cultural strategy is due to be approved in January 2023. We want Hastings to benefit from the opportunities culture brings to change lives, improve health and be happy.

Hastings will be England's leading destination for inclusive and accessible cultural activities. Culture will enrich the town's economy and support residents to live their best lives regardless of their social and health challenges.

Hastings' cultural offer is inclusive and accessible for all, there are chances for people to take part in culture in their community.

2. Proud to live in Hastings
Culture is embedded throughout the town, it builds connections between communities and improves the quality of life for local people.

3. Creative businesses succeed here
Hastings' creative economy is supported to thrive, creating opportunities for local people to gain skills and employment.

4. Open for tourism
Cultural tourism is encouraged to grow for the benefit of local people and businesses.

5. Carbon neutral
Hastings will be a centre of culture-led environmental action.
