What type of road closures are managed by the Council?
Hastings Borough Council is responsible for event related road closures. This includes street parties, public processions such as parades and also for fireworks or other lighting displays. This is done under the Town Police Clauses Act of 1847.

East Sussex County Council are responsible for closing roads for large sporting events, such as marathons, and also for any road or utility repair works. This is done under the Road Traffic Act 1984.
