Welcome to the Adult Weight Management Programme!
If you’re looking to lose weight and build a healthier lifestyle, you’re in the right place.
Our weight management groups and courses are designed to help you create sustainable, healthy habits for everyday life. There are no magic pills, no quick fixes, and no restrictive diets and nothing is off-limits.
Heidi, our experienced Weight Management Lead, is passionate about helping people make lasting changes. She focuses on breaking unhelpful habits, managing emotional eating, improving mental wellbeing, and sharing the knowledge you need to lose weight and keep it off for good.
Our classes and courses are open to adults living in Hastings and St Leonards and have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 30 (simply enter your details into the BMI calculator to get your BMI).

Free 12-week courses (face-to-face)

Your weight loss journey will run over 12 consecutive weeks, meeting your group once a week. The 12-week course includes weekly nutrition topics including how to be in a calorie deficit, habit breaking, how to read food packaging, mindfulness and emotional eating. Each week there will be an hours talk followed by a half hour low intensity work out.
You have four courses to choose from:

This is a weight management course for adults taking a GLP-1 injection and have a BMI over 30. Booking is essential, please use the EEQU booking platform - GLP-1 weight management course (men and women) to register your interest and to book the GLP-1 Weight Management course.
Weekly classes (face-to-face)
Take the first step toward a healthier, more active lifestyle with our welcoming weekly exercise classes. Led by our inspiring Active Hastings instructor, Heidi, each session is designed to help you rebuild confidence, boost your fitness, and enjoy moving again, no matter where you’re starting from.
Every week brings something new, from circuits and Legs, Bums and Tums to strength training and exercise to music, keeping your workouts fun and varied.
Our classes are tailored for beginners, with friendly guidance and easy-to-follow alternatives for every exercise, so you can progress at your own pace and feel supported every step of the way.
We currently run two weekly classes:
Wednesdays, 5.45pm to 6.30pm
Ark Alexandra Academy - Helenswood Campus
Session cost: £3 or pay what you can, with free tickets available.
Join Heidi for a low impact and low intensity exercise class, that makes you feel great!
Classes vary each week, so you’ll never get bored and it means you can join at any time. Exercises include low impact aerobics, weights, stretching, circuits and conditioning. All exercises have adaptations or alternatives to make the class suitable for all levels, hard and easy options available.

This weekly class combines both nutrition and exercise to support you in achieving your health and weight loss goals. Each session begins with a discussion focused on key topics around healthy living and sustainable weight loss, followed by 20 to 30 minutes of gentle exercise.
You’ll have the opportunity to set personal goals, track your progress, and monitor your results using our bio-impedance scales. The exercise portion is suitable for all abilities and includes a variety of gentle activities such as chair-based exercises, resistance band workouts, and light cardio challenges.
With a different focus each week, you can join at any time and start making positive changes toward a healthier, more active lifestyle.

We are hosting an online Q&A session to discuss strength training for people taking GLP-1 injections. The 30-minute session will explain what strength training is, what exercises you can do, and links to classes you can attend. This session is predominantly for those taking GLP-1’s but anyone interested in strength training can join.
