Hastings champions join the We Are Undefeatable campaign
Published 01/03/2023
Last September Active Hastings joined the We Are Undefeatable movement by encouraging local people with long-term health conditions to keep active. Since then, Active Hastings has been working with the local community by asking people to share their stories on how exercise helps their long-term health condition, with the aim to inspire and motivate local people to get more active.
Cath Donovan, Active Hastings Co-Ordinator said; "We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our champions, Alan, Sheila, Roger, Caroline, James and Neil, who have shared their stories with us. We have loved meeting you all and hearing how exercise has helped your long-term health conditions and wellbeing. You are all truly inspirational."
Councillor Andy Batsford, lead councillor for Health and Culture at Hastings Borough Council, said: "Seeing the local community come together to share their experiences has been phenomenal. The We Are Undefeatable campaign aims to raise awareness that how you feel can change from day-to-day, that everybody's situation is different, and that moving more when you can is just as important as knowing when you can't. Every achievement is worth celebrating."
Neil, an Active Hastings champion, echoes this by saying: "Whether it's doing knee bends whilst brushing my teeth or a stretch while I wait for the kettle to boil, I always try to find a bit of time to keep moving as much as I can."

It only takes 30 minutes a day for adults and 60 a day for children to get fitter, healthier and happier. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots!
Active Hastings coordinates the local Community Physical Activity Network, which brings together schools, sport clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport, health organisations, the voluntary sector and the private sector to work together, unblock barriers to participation and improve the local sport and physical activity delivery system.
