Updated parks byelaws to be discussed by Cabinet
Published 25/08/2022
Hastings Borough Council's Cabinet is due to discuss updated park byelaws at its next meeting on Monday 5 September.
The proposed byelaws revoke several sets of outdated rules and introduce modern byelaws which are based on a central government model.
The proposed byelaws will allow the council to introduce designated cycle paths in parks if approved.
Cllr Julia Hilton (Green), lead councillor for climate change and natural environment, said: "These byelaws update some very outdated legislation and make it clear what is and isn't acceptable in our parks in the current times. They have been through two public consultations as part of the legal process we have to follow, and we are now into the final stages of them being approved."
If approved by Cabinet, the byelaws will be debated by councillors at a special council meeting on Wednesday 14 September to meet regulatory timescales.
