Published 01/09/2020
Hastings Museum & Art Gallery are pleased to be reopening access to the Local Studies Room. The museum's local history service is your chance to investigate our local studies collections including local books and directories, maps, newspaper cuttings, photographs and local interest journals and magazines. Due to social distancing regulations, a new booking system has been introduced. Hastings Museum & Art Gallery are also asking visitors to let them know what you're hoping to investigate during your visit.
Councillor Colin Fitzgerald, lead cabinet member for Regeneration, Culture and Tourism said,
"Following the successful reopening of the museum last week, it's good to now be able to reopen the Local Studies Room too.
"It's also great to have volunteers Andre and Bill working with the curators to help people access this valuable local resource."
You can book a two-hour session to access the local studies collection for your research on Wednesdays, 10.30am-12.30pm or 2-4pm. You can book through the museums website at http://www.hmag.org.uk/collections/research/ or by calling the Museum during opening hours on 01424 451052.
