Organise a street party for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
Published 04/04/2022
Later this year, the country will enjoy a four-day bank holiday to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with an extensive programme of public events. The traditional late May bank holiday weekend has been moved to Thursday 2 June, with an additional bank holiday on Friday 3 June to create a four-day long weekend.
Hastings Borough Council has waived its normal road closure fee to enable street parties to go ahead during the jubilee The government has published details of how to organise a street party at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/your-guide-to-organising-a-street-party/your-guide-to-organising-a-street-party.
To ensure the event is run safely we do recommend that you do carry out a basic risk assessment to ensure that you and the other organisers have thought about things that might go wrong.
