Hastings Museum wins Traveller's Choice award

Hastings Museum & Art Gallery has been awarded the Travellers Choice award 2020. This award is presented by TripAdvisor each year after they have assessed reviews, ratings, and saves that travellers share.

The museum, which has been digital since March because of the COVID-19 pandemic, reopens its doors to visitors today (27 August) to showcase a range of new contemporary exhibitions and popular past exhibitions, including Grey Owl's cabin, Lady Brassey's collections and the Story of Hastings Gallery. There will be lots for visitors to enjoy.

The first of these new exhibition's is 'Hastings Open 2020' which begins when the museum reopens and will continue until 3 January 2021. This is the museum's first open call exhibition, featuring both local and international artists. The open call saw over 1500 artworks submitted for consideration, with the final pieces chosen by a guest panel of practising artists and gallery owners.

Free timed tickets are now available and must be booked in advance through the museum's website http://www.hmag.org.uk.

This shows that the hard work put in by the team over the past months in creating new digital content and implementing new procedures has been appreciated.
