The deadline to enter Hastings Open 2022 is fast approaching. Artists and makers have until 11pm on Friday June 24 to submit their works for a chance to feature in the exhibition at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery.

Hastings Open 2022 is for UK-based visual artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, print, photography, digital, and mixed media. The open highlights and celebrates the diverse artistic talent Hastings and the surrounding areas has to offer.

An award will be given to the creator of the winning piece, this includes a research residency at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery, a solo exhibition at blackShed Gallery in Robertsbridge, and a cash prize.

Cllr Andy Batsford, lead councillor for Health and Culture, said:

"Hastings Open will run from October 2022 to January 2023 and is part of our programme to open Hastings Museum & Art Gallery up to a wider audience and add contemporary artists to our collections. Hastings Museum & Art Gallery is keen to recognise the richness of the local arts scene with the open, helping to support local careers and provide a source of inspiration to those visiting the exhibition."

Entry starts at £5 for one artwork, £10 for two or three artworks, and £20 for four or five. The deadline for entries is Friday 24 June 2022 at 11pm.

Full terms and conditions and details on how to submit entries, can be found on the museum's website at www.hmag.org.uk.
