Council encourages local freelancers, businesses, charities and organisations to check funding opportunities
Published 27/07/2020
Hastings Borough Council is encouraging local freelancers, businesses, charities and organisations to check if they are eligible for support through the Cultural Recovery Fund. The Cultural Recovery Fund was established by the Government to support the UK's creative industries. £662 million in recovery funding is now available for culture, arts and heritage sectors.
The funding is being distributed via the Arts Council England, the British Film Institute, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England.
Cllr Colin Fitzgerald, deputy leader and lead councillor for regeneration, culture and tourism said,
"We're happy to see this funding available for the arts, culture and heritage sectors.
"The arts, culture and heritage sectors are a huge part of Hastings, and really make the town as vibrant as it is. We know our local cultural venues and businesses need this support after struggling the last few months because of the pandemic, so we're happy the Government has now released the details of the support available and applications are already open for many of the schemes.
"Please go to our website to find out more about the variety of schemes the Government are offering. The funding is for a diverse range of people, organisations and businesses, so it's worth checking through the eligibility criteria of each scheme very carefully.
"Some of the deadlines are coming up soon, so we want to make sure nobody misses out."
