    Hastings Borough Council’s new councillors met for the first time for Annual Full Council last night (Wednesday 20 May). 

    Cllr Glenn Haffenden was appointed leader of the council with Cllr Julia Hilton deputy leader. Cllr Paula Warne was named Mayor of Hastings, with Cllr Amanda Jobson as deputy. 

    The Cabinet is made up of: 

    Cllr Glenn Haffenden, leader of the council and lead councillor for housing, health, active communities, local government reorganisation; 

    Cllr Julia Hilton, deputy leader and lead councillor for shaping places, regeneration and community wealth building; 

    Cllr Darren Mackenzie, lead councillor for finance, IT, risk and assets; 

    Cllr Mark Etherington, lead councillor for planning, infrastructure and regulatory services; 

    Cllr Jo Walker, lead councillor for climate, nature and green spaces; 

    Cllr Becca Horn, lead councillor for community safety and environmental services; 

    Cllr Solly Solamito, lead councillor for corporate services, communities and equalities; 

    Cllr Clem McCulloch, chair of the charity committee. 

    Cllr Glenn Haffenden, leader of the council, said: “I am delighted to be able to lead Hastings Borough Council for the coming year, we have so many exciting things planned and I’m looking forward to seeing them happen. We will be focusing on improving sports facilities, continuing to improve housing and making Hastings a cleaner and more beautiful place to live and visit.  

    “My new Cabinet and I are looking forward to getting out and meeting more residents and working with you to make Hastings somewhere we can all be proud to call home.”
