The Foreshore Trust grants programme awards grants of up to £6000 for voluntary and community groups offering a service within Hastings & St. Leonards, and for events being held on Foreshore Trust land in 2021-2022. Applications will be opening on 18 October 2021.
Any proposed events in an application must consider given current, ongoing and any anticipated future Government guidance in relation to COVID-19. Latest Government guidance can be found on the COVID-19 section of the Government's website.
The team are also looking for a new volunteer for their Grant Advisory Panel. The panel gives advice to the Hastings and St Leonards Foreshore Trust on how surplus income from the Foreshore Trust should be distributed. This means they help choose which projects receive funding in each grants programme.
Councillor Trevor Webb, Chair of the Charity Committee said: "With events now starting to go ahead for the first time in the pandemic, we're excited to be able to receive applications for events on Foreshore land, as well as from community and voluntary groups that work hard in our local area.
"Previous rounds of the programme have seen the following projects funded:

    • A programme which offers professional counselling for social care workers
    • A music mentoring project for young people
    • A virtual cafe for carers
    • And many more!

"We look forward to see the fantastic applications we get in and then going on to fund some wonderful projects. While there isn't an environmental category we are keen to see projects that will tackle the climate emergency.
"We also hope that we can find a willing volunteer who knows about the local community and voluntary sector for the advisory panel too. Anyone interested should contact the Chief Legal Officer Mary Kilner at mary.kilner@hastings.gov.uk ."
