Do It For Josh Funds Waistband of Brothers for 2024
Published 13/05/2024
Active Hastings would like to say a special thank you to Becky Alexander and Heart and Sole Runners, who recently took part in the Hastings Half Marathon and Brighton Marathon to raise funds for the Active Hastings' free weight management course, in memory of Becky's son Josh Alexander.
Since starting their fundraising adventures, Becky and Heart and Sole Runners have raised £4,281.78, which alongside funding from One You East Sussex, will enable the Active Hastings weight management project to continue in 2024/25.
Alongside Becky's awesome running achievements, she also organised a memorial football tournament last September to help raise funds. The #DoItForJosh football tournament was a huge success and family and friends, and the local football community came together to enjoy a memorable afternoon of football in the sunshine.
Becky Alexander said: "Josh was always so passionate about health and fitness and helping others work towards their goals. Being able to support his work to continue in the local community means that his memory will live on, and I will continue to do what I can to ensure this."
Heidi Tambeh, Adult Weight Management Specialist at Active Hastings said; "Josh was a much loved and valued member of the Active Hastings team and played a vital role in running our Weight Management project. The team are absolutely delighted we are continuing to run our weight management courses this year in Josh's memory. Huge thank you to Becky and Heart and Sole Runners for their very generous donation and massive congratulations on all your achievements."
