Budget and corporate plan amended by Cabinet
Published 07/02/2023
Hastings Borough Council's Cabinet have amended the updated corporate plan and budget for 2023-24.
Following consultation with residents and organisations across the town, changes were made at the Cabinet meeting last night (Monday 6 February). The council received more than 160 comments in response to the consultation, covering a range of topics in the corporate plan and budget proposals.
Cllr Paul Barnett, leader of the council, said: "Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and respond to our proposed corporate plan update and budget for 2023-24. It has been useful to hear some of the things that our residents believe should be our top priorities. Balancing the budget has been a very long and tricky process and, as we said when we launched the consultation, we have had to make some difficult decisions to ensure the financial security of the council going forwards.
"However, your responses have helped us decide to make several changes to the plan and some revised budget proposals."
The updated corporate plan and budget will be available in the Corporate Plan section of the council's website. The updates will be discussed at Budget Full Council on Wednesday 15 February at 6pm. This meeting will be available to watch on the council's website.
