Battle Road Update 16 February 2022

Work at Battle Road is progressing well. The demolition began last week. This will be done in stages, working along the units until they are all completed. The site will then be boarded and sealed, and a mesh fence will be put up at the back of the gardens in Silverlands Road. This work is due to be completed by mid-March.

When the demolition is complete, the site will be handed over to East Sussex Highways. They need to remove the protective barriers, repair and repaint the surface as required before it can be reopened fully. They have advised that the highways work will take around three weeks and there will be a full road closure while this is carried out. Once this is complete, the road will be reopened to two-way traffic again. We are expecting this to be in early April.
