FREE Walking Pregnancy Groups in Hastings

Active Hastings are excited to announce that together with East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust maternity service, they have relaunched their free weekly Pregnancy Walking Group.The group is for expectant mums who want to get more active, make friends and improve their physical and mental health in a safe and supportive environment. An Active Hastings Instructor and Public Health Maternity Nurse will guide you on the hour long, low intensity walk. The group meets every Wednesday, 10am to 11am at the Goat Ledge café (on the seafront).
No need to pre-book, but you will need to complete a registration form which can be completed in advanced or on the day at www.activehastings.org.uk/activepregnancy
Feel free to bring little ones in buggies along with you. If you have any health concerns about your ability to participate in this session during pregnancy, please contact your midwife, or email: esht.maternitypublichealth@nhs.net
Cllr Andy Batsford, lead councillor for Health and Culture at Hastings Borough Council, said: "Our Walking Pregnancy group is a great opportunity for pregnant women to come together for a safe low intensity walk along the seafront. Walking is a great way to create a happy and healthy lifestyle whilst making new friends."
Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure that everyone in Hastings can get active. Active Hastings
Active Hastings works closely with local providers of physical activity to give you easy, fun ways to get your everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 30 minutes a day for adults and 60 a day for children to get fitter, healthier and happier. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots!Active Hastings coordinates the local Community Physical Activity Network, which brings together schools, sport clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport, health organisations, the voluntary sector and the private sector to work together, unblock barriers to participation and improve the local sport and physical activity delivery system.
