Active Hastings supports Progress Network
Published 25/09/2025

Active Hastings were delighted to join a recent Progress Network Sparks football session at Warrior Square Gardens to see their training sessions in action, and to see so many young people proudly wearing their brand-new football kits!
Cath Donovan, Physical Activity and Health Strategic Lead said “We were delighted to help Progress Network secure funding for 50 new football kits. A huge thank you to CGI for sponsoring this initiative and making it possible. We’re proud to have our logo on the back of these shirts and even prouder to stand behind Progress Network, who do such an amazing job engaging young people in physical activity and strengthening the community in Central St Leonards.”
Alongside running their own sessions, Active Hastings works closely with local community organisations to increase participation in sport and physical activity. This is achieved by providing training resources, building connections, highlighting funding opportunities and help with grant applications.
Jerome, Progress Network, said: “Progress Network would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Active Hastings and CGI for putting a smile on the kids' faces.”
Councillor Glenn Haffenden, leader of the council and lead councillor for sport and leisure, said: “Collaborative working at its best! Huge congratulations to Progress Network and Active Hastings for securing kit sponsorship for the Progress Network Sparks football sessions, what a great achievement!”

Notes to editor:
Active Hastings works closely with local providers of physical activity to give you easy, fun ways to get your everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 30 minutes a day for adults and 60 a day for children to get fitter, healthier and happier. You can even break it down into 10-minute slots!
Active Hastings coordinates the local Community Physical Activity Network, which brings together schools, sport clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport, health organisations, the voluntary sector and the private sector to work together, unblock barriers to participation and improve the local sport and physical activity delivery system.
Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure that everyone in Hastings can get active.
