Active Hastings celebrates 20 years and launches new Partnership Coffee Morning
Published 26/10/2026

Active Hastings is inviting local organisations, community groups and partners to come together at its new Partnership Coffee Morning, as the organisation celebrates its 20th anniversary of improving health and wellbeing across Hastings.
The informal networking event will bring together members of the Active Hastings Partnership, a network of more than 200 members representing over 90 organisations. This diverse and growing network reflects a shared commitment to improving health, wellbeing and opportunities for Hastings residents through sport and physical activity. Membership continues to evolve as new organisations and community groups join the collective effort to create lasting change.
Cath Donovan, Physical Activity and Health Strategic Lead at Active Hastings said: “This informal networking session is a chance to connect with others, share ideas, learn about local projects and discover opportunities to work together. Whether you're delivering physical activity, supporting health and wellbeing, working with local communities, or simply interested in getting involved, we'd love to see you there.
“There’s no formal agenda and no pressure, just good conversation, new connections, and an opportunity to hear about some of the fantastic work taking place across the town.”
The Partnership Coffee Morning will take place at Muriel Matters House on Wednesday 25 November, 10.30am to 12.30pm. Book your place and come along for a coffee, meet new people, strengthen existing relationships, and help shape a healthier, more active Hastings. Spaces are limited, book your free place today.
Councillor Glenn Haffenden, leader of the council and lead councillor for sport and leisure, said: “It’s wonderful to see the Active Hastings partnership continue to grow and develop. The partnership programme has been successfully running for 20 years, connecting partners, aligning resources and sharing insight, it works to address the social, environmental and structural barriers that prevent people from being active, while strengthening the local ecosystem that enables active lifestyles.”
This year Active Hastings celebrates their 20th anniversary. Since their launch in 2006, Active Hastings has focused on breaking down barriers to physical activity for thousands of residents throughout Hastings. Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure that everyone in Hastings can get active.

Notes to editor:
Active Hastings works closely with local providers of physical activity to give you easy, fun ways to get your everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 30 minutes a day for adults and 60 a day for children to get fitter, healthier and happier. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots!
Active Hastings coordinates the local Community Physical Activity Network, which brings together schools, sport clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport, health organisations, the voluntary sector and the private sector to work together, unblock barriers to participation and improve the local sport and physical activity delivery system.
