    With thanks to funding from the UK Prosperity Fund, Active Hastings have continued to roll out a number of free activity sessions at the Broomgrove Community Centre, to help get Hastings moving!

    New sessions launching this spring include a series of Saturday Family Fun Days. The first Saturday Family Fun Day starts on Saturday 18 May, 12noon to 3pm at the Broomgrove Community Centre. For Mental Health Awareness Week join Active Hastings for a free afternoon of wellness for the whole family. Enjoy arts and crafts, circus skills and sports including yoga, dance and Muay Thai. You can also learn massage techniques to help relieve stress. Free healthy snacks and drinks are available throughout the afternoon for all the family. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a joint event with Active Hastings and Fresh Visions. No need to book, just turn up.

    Throughout the summer Active Hastings will run a number of free themed Saturday Family Fun Days at the Broomgrove Community Centre, including a Beach Dance Party on 15 June, 1pm to 3pm and Olympic themed games on 20 July, 1pm to 3pm. Visit the Active Hastings website for more information.

    In addition, Active Hastings also run a range of low cost or free activities at the Broomgrove Community Centre, including Zumba, Pilates, Creating a Healthier You exercise class, Age Friendly Activity and Social Sessions, Boxercise, Under 5s Play and Stay, Junior Muay Thai and the Friday Night Project.

    Heather, Physical Activity Development Officer for Broomgrove at Active Hastings, said: "As part of the UK Prosperity Fund we are delivering a variety of physical activity opportunities in the Broomgrove area, which we hope will increase social interaction and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. If you would like to discuss what activities you would like to see at the Broomgrove Community Centre or what stops you from being active, we would love to hear from you. Pop along to one of the Saturday Family Fun Days to chat to the team."

    Active Hastings has received £107,544 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure that everyone in Hastings can get active.
