Christmas Fun in Broomgrove

Active Hastings brought Christmas cheer to the Broomgrove Community Centre at their Broomgrove Christmas Fun Day on Saturday 9 December. With thanks to the Levelling Up Fund, over 120 people enjoyed an afternoon of free Christmas activities including, sports with Active Hastings, card making and crafts with In2play, pizza making, bird feeder making with Sussex Wildlife Trust and music with Soundcastle. There was even a special visit from Father Christmas, with gifts from Southern Housing and the National Literacy Trust.
Heather Jury, Active Hastings, Physical Activity Development Officer for Broomgrove said: "Wow, what a wonderful day we had, thank you so much to everyone who came along and made it such an amazing success!
"We were so pleased to bring a range of organisations together to offer a brilliant variety of activities, we would like to thank them once again for all their hard work. We would also like to thank all the stallholders and everyone who helped on the day: Motivate Sussex, Wellbeing services at Southern Housing, Hastings Women's Voice, Oasis Community Project - East Hastings, East Sussex County Council and Sussex Police."
Councillor Andy Batsford, lead councillor for Health and Culture at Hastings Borough Council, said: "It's great to see free Christmas celebrations happening in the community for local residents to enjoy! With thanks to the UK Prosperity Fund, we have brought a range of new physical activity offerings to the residents of Broomgrove, including Boxercise, Pilates and Junior Muay Thai."
Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure that everyone in Hastings can get active.
