Christmas trees to still light up Hastings this year
Published 10/11/2020
Christmas trees are still going to be displayed in public places across Hastings this year, despite Government's tighter COVID-19 restrictions.
The trees will be put up in five locations across the town on Thursday 19 November in preparation for the festive season.
The locations include the town centre, Old Town, and Kings Road. All the trees are 15-30ft high, with the tallest being placed in the town centre.
Cllr Kim Forward, leader of the council, said,
"We're pleased to have the Christmas trees up across the town again this year. We know people love seeing them and, as it's been such a difficult year, we hope these trees can bring a little bit of cheer to residents doing their essential shopping in Hastings during this uncertain period.
"Although we don't know what the future holds, as the festive season approaches, we hope the trees can be an incentive for our community to 'shop local' for those unique Christmas presents."
