Srebrenica Memorial Week 2022
Published 05/07/2022
This year marks the 27th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, in which more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were murdered in the worst atrocity on European soil since the Second World War, simply because of their religion.
During Srebrenica Memorial Week (4 July - 11 July) we remember the survivors of the genocide, those whose lives were taken, and come together to work towards building a more unified, stronger, and safer society free from hate, discrimination, and prejudice.
This year's theme 'Combatting Denial: Challenging Hatred' seeks to shine a light on the importance of combatting denial and the need to confront the hatred behind this. We pledge to remember the genocide and reaffirm our commitment to standing up against hatred and prejudice.
