Nominations are now open for the annual Order of 1066 Award, which recognises a person who has given exceptional voluntary service to the town of Hastings and its residents.
The award will be presented during Hastings Week at a ceremony on Wednesday 14 October. The winner will be decided by a panel which is chaired by the Mayor of Hastings, Councillor Paula Warne.
Nominations can be submitted by organisations and individuals in the town. The deadline for nominations is Friday 7 August.More information and the nomination form can be found online.
The Mayor of Hastings, Cllr Paula Warne, said: "Volunteers often go unnoticed, quietly giving their time to support our community. That is why it is great to have an award like this, one that enables us to publicly acknowledge the sacrifices that these fantastic people make for Hastings.
"I am looking forward to joining the other panel members to look through the submissions for this year's award and find out about all the remarkable contributions people have made to our town.
“We encourage everyone to nominate someone whose outstanding contribution deserves to be recognised and celebrated."
