Published 12/06/2023
The Order of 1066 Award is presented annually on Hastings Day to recognise and honour a person who has given exceptional service to the town and its residents in a voluntary capacity.
The winner of the Order of 1066 Award will be decided by a panel, which is chaired by the Mayor, with the award presented at a ceremony on Saturday 14 October, as part of the Hastings Week programme.
Nominations are invited from both organisations and individuals in the town. The nomination form and criteria for selection can be viewed at www.hastings.gov.uk/my-community/order-1066-award. The deadline for forms to be submitted is Friday 18 August. Please make sure to include the reason why the person is being nominated.
The Mayor of Hastings, Cllr Margi O'Callaghan, said, "Each year so many Hastings' residents and organisations dedicate their time to helping others in our community, this award is about recognising this hard work and saying a big thank you to them.
"We are excited to see the submissions for this year's award and find out about all of the significant things people have done this year. If you know someone who is worthy of this award, please let us know by submitting a nomination to us before 18 August."
