NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14 HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL
Hastings Borough Council (Footpath No. HAS/288/1 - Part) Stopping Up Order 2026
The above order was made on 17 August 2026. The effect of the order will be to stop up that part of the public footpath running from Point A to Point B as shown on the order map.
A copy of the order and the order map may be seen free of charge at Muriel Matters House, Breeds Place, Hastings, East Sussex TN34 3UY from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on Monday and Thursday and from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 10.00am to 4.30 pm on Friday. Copies of the order and map can be downloaded for free from the Council website https://www.hastings.gov.uk/my-council/transparency/public/).
Any representation about or objection to the order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to Joseph Brown, Regeneration and Culture, Muriel Matters House, Breeds Place, Hastings, East Sussex TN34 3UY, email: TownDeal@hastings.gov.uk not later than 18 September 2026. Please state the grounds on which it is made.
If no such representation or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Hastings Borough Council may itself confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.

THE HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL (PROMENADE)
PARKING PLACE ORDER 2025NOTICE is hereby given that Hastings Borough Council have made an Order on 20 May 2025, coming into force on 16 June 2025, in exercise of its powers under the above Acts and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which introduces a new parking place as detailed below:-
Parking Place - The Promenade, Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea - For the use by Pedal Cycles
A copy of the Parking Place Order, plan and a statement of the Council for making the Order, may be examined at the Community Contact Centre, Muriel Matters House, Breeds Place, Hastings, during their normal opening hours or can be viewed on our website: www.hastings.gov.uk/publicnotices.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks of 20 May 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
