Would you be able to provide an estimate of the amount that the council spends on a) street/beach cleaning b) beach cleaning alone per year?

The latest budget details shown are Budget Summary 2022-23 and 2023-24 under Appendix O and the relevant page is copied and attached.

There was an increase to the Beach Cleaning contract and details of this are in the Agenda and minutes of the Charity Committee on 9^th December 2024. Details are at item 28.

The budget figure shown covers all aspects of Street Cleaning and for previous years have been:

This would cover street and beach cleansing, graffiti, fly-tipping, street litter bins and the other tasks covered by the street cleaning team. Details are shown in Street cleaning in Hastings. This team is in-house and because the team members are multi-task there is not a separate breakdown.

Waste and recycling collections are dealt with separately by a contractor.
