Responded Fri 10 July 2026Please can I request the following data.- Number of bulky waste collections booked through Hastings Borough Council- Number of bulky waste collections which could not be completed by Hastings Borough Council (or an appointed contractor)- The sum of payments received through bulky waste collectionsPlease can this information be provided in the format of "per year" and "per month" for the following years: 2024, 2025, 2026 (where available). This can be provided by calendar or financial year, whichever is most convenient.
Response
Please find attached as requested a breakdown of the information required concerning Bulky Waste.
The charges in place were £35 from 1 April 2024, £40 from 1 April 2025 and £45 from 1 April 2026 for up to three items. I have used this rate as there is no indication whether any of the collections were for more items.

The details of bulky waste collections that were not completed are not available. However, we have shown the number cancelled and these are normally on the day of collection. They will generally be either the customer cancelling or the collection staff either unable to find the items or the items were not those advised and were not suitable or were not suitable. These will generally be items such as fridge freezers with food in, unwrapped mattresses or glass that is not safe. The collection staff will still take any items that are suitable and so there are few collections that are not completed
