FOI request (FOI-84669309)
Electric charging points
Requested Mon 13 August 2018
Responded Thu 06 September 2018- I still have not had a reply regarding the number of electric charge points installed in Hastings - in particular I would like to know if anyone has successfully managed to do what I would like to do, i.e. have one installed in the street near (but not outside) their house?
- Do HBC have any kind of forward strategy in place in how they plan to deal with the electrification of cars and small vans, given the number of properties that do not have off-street parking?
Response
Q1 - This information can be found on our website by searching for applications using our public access search tool which allows applications to be searched using key text.Q2 - Whilst we do not hold any information in respect of a forward strategy relating to the installation of electric vehicle charging points for properties that do not have off-street parking, we note the following statement which is taken from East Sussex County's website: "Our plans to support on-street charging and electric vehicle infrastructure The County Council does not currently provide on-street charging points for electric vehicles. We recognise that there is a growing level of interest in this area and that greater availability of accessible electric vehicle charging points [EVCPs] is key to increasing the uptake of EV. During 2018 we will be developing our approach to support electric vehicles in East Sussex". -
