What is Solar Together Sussex?

Solar Together Sussex is supported by councils across Sussex, including Hastings Borough Council.

It is a group buying scheme that helps homeowners through the process of buying solar panels; the scheme helps local homeowners feel confident that they are not only paying the right price but getting a high-quality installation from a vetted installer. By generating electricity from the sun, you could greatly reduce your annual carbon emissions and help Hastings to become carbon neutral by 2030.

If you register for the scheme, you will receive a no obligation proposal including the cost of the installation and the likely return on investment from the electricity generated by the solar panels. This will help you to make an informed decision whether to go ahead with the installation.

The scheme has now closed for registrations in 2021.

What happens next?

First, an 'auction' will be held on 28 September when our pre-vetted solar installers will bid for the work.
After this auction has taken place, you'll be contacted from 18 October with a personalised offer based on the specifications of your roof. This will include the cost and return on investment from the solar panel installation.

You can choose to accept or reject this offer. There is no obligation to continue. You'll have until 26 November to decide and you'll be invited to a local information session if you want to go ahead.

If you accept the offer, you will be contacted by the winning supplier will contact you to schedule a survey of your roof and set an installation date.
