How to apply
If you wish to operate a family entertainment centre then you will need to apply for a gambling premises licence.
To apply for a gambling premises licence you will need to complete the form below:

Once you have completed the form you will need to send it to us. You can do this by scanning it and emailing them it us. Or you can post it to us at:

If you are in the process of constructing or altering a premises with the intention of operating it as an family entertainment centre, you may wish to apply for a provisional statement:

A provisional statement will provide you with a level of assurance as to the outcome of any future betting premises licence application. It will also provide some protection again representations when you make your premises licence application. You do not need to hold an operating licence from the Gambling Commission in order to apply for a provisional statement.
Conditions
To apply for a gambling premises licence you must hold an operating licence. Operating licences are issued by the Gambling Commission. You must also have the right to occupy the premises.
Consultation
Every gambling premises licence application is subject to a consultation period of 28 days. As part of this process you need to give notice of it to each of the other Responsible Authorities.
You also need to advertise your application on the site of the premises and in a local paper. You can find out more about why you need to do this and how to do it on our consultation page.
Fees
The cost of a family entertainment centre premises licence is £2,000. The annual renewal fee is £750. The provisional statement is £2,000.
