Being a landlord isn't always easy: there is housing law to make sense of, maintenance checks to undertake and problems can arise while managing a tenancy. Setting up as a new landlord can be daunting.

The videos below have been designed to provide as a helpful resource for both current and new landlords.

Starting the tenancy - This helpful video will guide you through the process of starting a tenancy. All aspects of starting a tenancy are covered, from setting up a tenancy agreement and securing a deposit to ensuring your property has had all of the correct checks.

Managing the tenancy - This concise video discusses all aspects of tenancy management from working together with your tenant(s) to address rent arrears and anti-social behaviour to maintenance responsibilities including providing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Ending the tenancy - This short video will guide you through the strict process of ending a tenancy including giving notice and returning the deposit. The video also covers how to end things well with the tenant by doing inventory checks and meter readings together and points to further sources of advice.
