Generally speaking, if you plan on working with or around children or vulnerable people you will probably need a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Employers may wish to look at the DBS eligibility guidance list which runs down most roles that are eligible for a check. However, the guidance isn't comprehensive, and you should contact the DBS if you're unsure.
A robust Child Protection Policy should be developed and implemented whenever children or vulnerable persons are likely to attend an event.
